A new airline is set to land at Newcastle Airport next summer after announcing new flights to a popular European holiday destination.
Turkish airline Sun Express will launch three weekly flights from March next year to the resort town of Antalya, Turkey, throughout the summer.
The new service will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from March 28 to October 28, 2023.

The airline will become the third to operate flights to Antalya from Newcastle and is another new addition to the airport.
SunExpress Chief Commercial Officer Peter Glade said: “We are delighted to further expand our footprint in the UK and add Newcastle International Airport to our route network next year.

Newcastle Airport says Turkey remains one of the most popular destinations for holidaymakers in the North East.

SunExpress has been named Turkey’s Best Leisure Airline 2021 at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards.
The airline currently operates flights from London Gatwick, Luton, Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham airports, expanding its services for summer 2023 to Newcastle and Bristol airports.
